the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) will be hosting
TRAILS FOR TAILS, a 5K Run/Walk through historic Centennial Olympic
Park in conjunction with their annual convention, which will be held in
Atlanta this year. For the serious runners, this is a certified
race.The AVMA will be giving back by working with two local shelters, one of which is PAWS Atlanta, to raise funds for our shelter pets. Prizes will be given to the top 3 male and female finishers in four age groups. Race registration includes a commemorative T-shirt, goodie bag, refreshments, awards and raffle prizes. Join 1,000 fellow Atlantans on Saturday, August 7 at Centennial Olympic Park in a race to support the men and women of the Atlanta Police Department. Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome! Race day activities include Gumshoe Gallop and 100 Yard Dash for kids and the 5K race for runners and walkers. Be sure to stop at the family fun zone for an up-close look at APD's SWAT team, tactical police equipment and the Mounted Patrol horses! Proceeds from race sponsorships benefit the Officer Scholarship Fund, which provides tuition funds for eligible officers who seek to continue their education. To date, more than $360,000 in funds has been awarded to our officers. As our force grows, scholarship funds will be a critical tool to helping us stem attrition and maintain a well-rounded and world-class police force. Partnering with the Atlanta's Finest 5K through a race sponsorship is an excellent way to show your company's support for our brave men and women in blue.
